The conjunction of figure and paint has always intrigued me. The figure itself speaks volumes about the flow of life from simple to complex beauty. In a work of art the medium can encompass not only the obvious figure/message but the sub dermal beauty of paint as well. For me there is a harmonious blending of the real figure and the paint and the expression used to portray that figure. It speaks not only to my intellect but also to my passion for both: the story or suggestion thereof, as well as the bits and pieces at the micro level that build the painting and figure into the whole.
