The inevitable decay and aging of the human form interests me. Skin shows a visual record that exposes the wearing of life. Thinning and sagging skin can communicate evidence of bruising, scarring, and wrinkling. My work examines these inexorable events and communicates the conflict of trying to de-age the body and succumb to the decay.

I am highly influenced by the textures aging skin and facial maturing can incarnate. I have been exploring the tones and surfaces of the aging female to inspire my flesh-like works. By examining bedsores, eczema, rashes, bruises, open wounds, and wrinkled skin, I can take these colors and markings and implement them in my paintings.
