The Nude in the 21st Century |

Linda Pearlman Karlsberg These drawings from the figure are a record of seeing and a contemplative appreciation of the human form. Looking for the structure and intricacies of form, each drawing is a process, and a dialog in graphite or charcoal between the page and my observance of the figure before me while absorbed in a journey of recognition and response to gesture and bone, muscle and texture, light and shape. The work that grows reflects the journey that follows lines, records nuances of surface and builds planes and muscles. It is the documentation of the discovery and my layers of seeing; the result of carving away at the white page to produce a compelling emotive figure that conveys my delight in the process, my admiration for the complex moving, living human form and suggests the emotional resonance of each individual. | |
