I am a figurative painter living in Las Vegas, New Mexico. After receiving a bachelor’s degree in archaeology from University of Washington, I travelled and worked in third world countries before deciding to pursue a career in art. From 2014-2019, I studied classical realism in the atelier of Juliette Aristides at Seattle’s Gage Academy if Art. I felt that learning to draw in a technically skilled way would improve my ability to communicate as an artist. After moving to the North Oregon Coast my brushstrokes became loose and thick as I left the static confines of the studio and began to capture more fleeting moments in relationships and nature. Now I am preserving my experiences of culture and community in my Southwest environment.
