Missing the forest for the tree, acrylic on canvas, 36" x 24" x 1.5" The passion we feel for an issue can obscure the larger world around us.
The nude figure represents the artist's true self. Whether the subject is male, female, or differently gendered, the artist enters the spirit of that subject, and embraces the vulnerability, the confidence, or confusion, of the pose, applying their own interpretation of that emotion onto the canvas. Figurative work is inherently self-reflective, and auto-biographical.
